Our Tiered engraving structure allows projects to be priced based on complexity, setup requirements, and production time — ensuring each job receives the attention it requires.

American Rustic Design offers professional fiber laser engraving for metal and select hard materials in the Reno / Sparks area. Because engraving projects vary significantly in detail and technical requirements, services are organized into structured tiers to provide clarity and fairness in pricing.

We encourage you to submit your project info in the form below before placing your order. We then evaluate each project before engraving begins to confirm material compatibility, design suitability, and expected results. This ensures correct tier is selected, has consistent quality across all engravings, and proper setup with clean execution.

How the Tier System Works

Laser engraving complexity can vary based on:

• Surface type (flat vs irregular)
• Design detail and artwork preparation
• Alignment and positioning requirements
• Depth, contrast, or multi-pass engraving
• Setup time and testing requirements
• Repeatability or logging needs

The tier selected reflects the level of preparation and precision required — not just the size of the engraving.

Service Tiers

Tier 1 — Micro Engraving | $25

Best for: initials, names or short phrases

• Simple text only (no logos or artwork)
• Approx. 20 characters max
• One line, one location
• Flat, easy-to-access surfaces
• Light surface marking

No design work, alignment adjustments, or test marks included.

Tier 2 — Standard Engraving | $45

Best for: simple logos, text layouts and everyday engraving

• One design (text or simple logo)
• One location
• Moderate engraving area
• Clean, high-contrast finish
• Minor file cleanup or layout tweaks if needed

Item complexity:
Flat or gently curved surfaces with clear access for engraving.

Customer-supplied artwork preferred. Complex artwork, deep engraving, or alignment-critical work may require a higher tier.

Tier 3 — Detailed Engraving | $90

Best for: detailed artwork, larger engraves or curved items

• One detailed design or logo
• Larger or more complex engraving area
• Multiple passes for improved contrast or depth
• Careful layout and placement
• Moderate file cleanup or adjustments
• Test mark included when material or finish requires it

Item complexity:
Curved surfaces or items requiring additional setup and positioning.

Multiple locations, serial marking, or tight alignment may require the next tier.

Tier 4 — Precision Engraving | $180

Best for: serial numbers, tight placement or professional-use items

• Alignment-critical engraving
• Multiple locations or complex layouts
• Careful placement and setup
• Multiple test marks if required
• Controlled depth and consistency
• Detailed file preparation and verification

Item complexity:
Items with complex geometry, multiple engraving areas, or minimal margin for error.

Production runs or extended projects may be better suited for industrial pricing available Here.
